First, we had an excellent breakfast prepared for us by some of the lady residents at the RV park that we stayed at overnight. Here's all our bikes parked by the recreation hall:
For one, our tour seems to be attracting stray dogs. When we were at Dauphin Island in Alabama one of our young adult support staff - part of the 'Wolfpack' - found an abandoned 6 month old puppy on the beach.
She's adopted the dog, now named Rocky, and will be having it sent to her home from Tallahassee tomorrow.
Today, some of our riders found a group of 4 puppies that had been abandoned along side the road and brought them all together:
This group of puppies were then adopted by some of the mechanics that were repairing one of the support vans for the tour (2 of the puppies), while the other 2 puppies were placed in a 'no-kill' shelter in Marianna.
We are staying in Marianna tonight, a town that seriously damaged by Hurricane Michael last October. The campground that we are staying at has just reopened, but is a long way from being fully repaired:
Overall we rode for 69.9 miles at an average speed of 12.2 mph and a maximum of 28 mph with no flats.
