Coast 2 Coast - Day 33 - St. Francisville to Franklinton

After our rest day at the girl scout camp in St. Francisville, it was time to go biking again in southeast Louisiana.

We were on back roads, going through small country towns, so the view generally was the same through the day:

The town of Kentwood, in the parish of Tangihapoa, had the cafe that we stopped at for lunch, and was featuring the paintings of a local artist:

But the weather was pleasantly warm and sunny, with an insignificant wind.

There were, however, more rolling hills, so we did almost 3000 feet of elevation gain over the day.

The other thing that we we've observed going through Louisiana is that they have a lot of logging  and therefore log trucks:

The trucks and other traffic have been generally considerate of our bicyclists, which is good since many of the back roads do not have a significant shoulder.

Overall we rode for 88.6 miles at an average speed of 12.6 mph and a maximum of 26 mph, with no flats.
